Lately we've been talking about our future and marriage a bit and last week we were discussing getting married. I'm not dying for a ring or anything or giving him an ultimatum. I just really love him very much and feel comfortable discussing our future together. We've been together for over 3 years and have been living together for almost a year.
Our big issue is money. Our families wouldn't pay for the wedding because they don't have it and we definitely don't have thousands of dollars in savings. We're in bed and out of the blue he mentions the idea of eloping. I said I didn't know that was an option and then he goes and falls asleep on me, leaving me flabberghasted pretty much.
I'm trying not to bring up the marriage thing again so soon, but how's he going to leave me hanging? Should I approach him about sometime soon, or let the dust settle for awhile? I'm interested in continuing that discussion.
