Very interesting. I can understand parents that delay vaccines or selectively vaccine, but not at all? And she's a scientist! People are interesting.

They really seem to have neglected all the dead children throughout history who died of measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria and everything else. Children no longer die of these diseases because of vaccinations. I chose to vaccinate because 1) I didn't want my kid to get any of those diseases and 2) I wouldn't dare want to be responsible for my kid being a carrier of one of those diseases and get some other kid sick.

Because you can't get shingles if you haven't had chickenpox, the chickenpox vaccine reduces both your risk for chickenpox and shingles.

When you're a mom, it is an amazing and beautiful thing to just hold your child. Even now, sometimes I take Allie (3) for a nap. She usually snuggles in close and throws an arm around my neck. I will miss that so much when it stops. I also very much enjoyed nursing my kids. But I would never have done it longer than a year (and I only made it one month and two months respectively anyway).

Wouldn't surprise me if her severe and frankly, creepy attachment to her kids is what help cause their separation. But as others have said, not my kid/family, not my problem.
