Posts: 14637 08/18/2012 1:05 AM perfect in weakness	basically, its an infection of your hair follicle. there's a red bump/sometimes white pus bump and its itchy and painful. I've had a few here and there over the years, but I currently have 4 on my left leg (2 bad that are healing, one bad that formed today) and 5 on my right leg (3 healing, one neutral and one very itchy and painful that started today). I don't have insurance or money, so I'm trying to avoid going to the Dr., but these are driving me crazy! According to multiple medical website they should go away in 2-3 days. But new ones keep coming. Any advice? Edit: after the spots recurring and going back to the Dr. for a culture, its MRSA. So I have to use this special wash 5 days in a row while taking another round of antibiotics. If this ever comes back again, I'll be pissed. As of right now, the Dr. said no shaving, and when I do, use only an electric razor. Edited 1 time by xBecky 09/10/2012 11:41 PM.

I asked a dermatologist about it a few years ago, the only advice she gave me was to shave with the hair, not against it, but even that doesn't stop it completely. It's why I'm too self-conscious to wear shorts or skirts.

Posts: 2345 08/18/2012 4:23 PM	It's an infection so please go to an urgent care. You need antibiotics. You can't shave that area for 2 weeks and only shave in the direction that the hair grows. Unfortunately in my case I got an infected hair in my armpit and after the infection went away I went straight to a salon for a waxing appt

Posts: 1360 08/18/2012 5:11 PM	I just had one and my doctor told me it was never going to fully go away. I was on antibiotics and it took it down a lot. She also told me the same thing about shaving and to use polysporin on it as well.

Posts: 14637 08/19/2012 12:08 AM perfect in weakness	thank goodness it's cool enough that I don't have to shave and I can wear pants - although I wore pants today and the rubbing against it was not good at all. They're all larger in redness and more painful and itchy. I can't even go to a Walgreens clinic now, my bank account will be near 0 at the end of the month.
