My roommate and I are trying to decide which of the 4 we want to move to. We agree on all but Boston & Chicago but I'm asking her to research Boston. Chicago is my last choice followed closely by Atlanta but she chose Chicago and Atlanta is her first choice.

I love Chicago but its such a huge town compared to where I'm from and I'm going to Boston, for the first time, in a few weeks but I'd love to live there.

I live in Boston and I like not just the city, but its location. You can travel really quickly to spend a weekend in NYC, Philly or even DC, it has beaches nearby and on the Cape, and mountains and skiing nearby in the Berkshires, NH, VT, or Maine.

Chicago or LA. LA for the weather and the beach. Chicago for the city life and art. I hear Chicago has A LOT of crime though and the winter is brutal. On the upside - no car.

If money isn't a factor, I would move to LA. I only lived there for a summer, but it was one of my favorite experiences. I think the west coast just makes me feel more at ease, for some reason.

I've never lived in Chicago or Boston, so I can't really weigh in on those, but I think Atlanta is a good choice if you're looking for a big city feel without the crazy cost of living. Plus the weather is typically nice. Summer sucks, but there's usually not a ridiculous winter like in Chicago or Boston. Traffic is probably my biggest issue with the city, but it's manageable if you don't work too far from home.

Chicago has crime in the bad areas yes. But I've never experienced anything bad.

Chicago
- The people are awesome there. It's very laidback. Sure the winters are a bitch but the summers can be great (humid) but there's the beach!

Boston
- As a native NYer, I really dislike Boston. I'm not a fan of the people and the neighborhoods seem so segregated.

LA
- Again, as a NYer don't like it. The weather is nice but the people seem so fake and disingenuine.

Atlanta
- Only visited briefly years ago so I don't really have an opinion.

Boston...because it's closer to NYC and on the east coast. It also looks like a really cool city!

Chicago...tempting because it's close to home and a huge city.

LA...not a huge fan of California, the weather or the mood there. It seems very fluffy. I definitely don't think I'd fit in.

Atlanta...I'd be tempted to live there but I don't like the south and the HATE THE HEAT.

I'm from LA, so I'll always love it there. Just gotta know how to meet the right people, and they certainly won't be in or anywhere near Hollywood.

Boston would be a second, because I love the accents and for the historical sense, it seems like it'd be a cool place to live.

Chicago would be a third, simply because I have family there but the winters are brutal so that would stop me.

I'm currently staying in Georgia, 30 miles or so from Atlanta, and I hate it. Always have.

Exact reasons I was going to post. I'm of course biased towards Boston since it's what I've grown up near but it really is a great city. It's not too big, but still big enough to feel like a city. The suburbs are nice around it, yet still close. If you're a sports nut, welcome to land of sports.

Everything is really accessible.

I happen to like the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots actually. I'd definitely go to Celtics games!
