My pups are named Rory and Lane. It seems one of two things usually happens. I'm either asked if they were named for Gilmore Girls (yes!), or why they have "boy" names. Lane was named Savannah by the rescue, which I can kind of see now, but when we adopted her with her silly little hair cut it didn't suit her at all. They love to play ball, and people at the dog park are constantly amazed when my "frou frou" dog beats their dog to the ball repeatedly. Rory will be five on Sunday, and Lane is probably between five and six. Here they are in Battery Park. Lane (blonde) is the one being a bit sassy with the tongue out. Bonus points if you can spot the Statue of Liberty:My husband snapped this one at the dog park the other day. It cracks me up with his giant feet in the picture.Little drowned rats after an unplanned swim in the creek. They will chase a tennis ball anywhere! Before my yorkies, I had a bullmastiff named Hutch. He was actually the family dog, but when I graduated from college he came to live with me. We had a Starsky (female) and Hutch, but sadly Starsky passed away from bloat. He was 135 lbs of pure love, and for some reason he preferred Starsky's pink bear.

Is she a mutt or a particular breed? Thanks! She's a mutt . Part Australian Shepherd, part some kind of water dog. We think she's got Little River Duck Dog in her (based on the colouring of her nose and mouth...and her love for water!), but she definitely favours the Aussie looks.^Duck Dog
