I know we only know what the media feeds us and it can be manipulative. I'm trying to open my eyes as to why this is happening. When I see things on like Pablo escobar who was a king of synthetic drugs and whatnot... I guess I associate most drugs with the death of people... But what is killing these people? I know Escobar just killed everyone who got in his way but in his wrapped biased blind mind he was helping his community. I have never personally know anyone to die of an OD, but know people who dabble in drugs. But when you OD, you knowly take too much.. So it's not so much the drugs that are killing you but your own wrapped mind... No? I'm sorry if any of this sounds bizzare. I have just never given it too much thought before.

Yes drugs may have side effects. But if you take them for the right reason they help you more than harm. And that is a fact. I guess you might have to give up something but the results can be great. I take Prozac and used to take Ritalin and adderall I take vivance now. I have never been more mentally stable and have never been so happy in my life. I take small doses and I ask my doctor everything. We don't increase my dosage unless there is a need to. I know the side effects of anti depressants and was scared of them for years but getting on a regular schedule of low dose of it has increased everything positive in my life immensely. My chemical/ neurological makeup is different than some people. And medication, does help me. I do not depend on it but it has made such a positive change in my life. I know why I put certain drugs in my body. To function. Not to not function.

The OP just made a "DUH!" post regarding drugs... anything we put in our body can harm us one way or another. But if their benefits outweighs the side effects for a person to function, then the drug is serving its purpose. I work with chemo drugs and every kind of drug to save lives.... however, nobody really knows the long-term side effects that can harm later on.

I also wouldn't put bath salts in the same category as synthetic marijuana. But in general, I think people who make life-threatening poor decisions regarding drug use do so because they feel like they need to escape the pain or desperation of their normal life and they lack the ability to make the logical long-term decision.
