My friends and I are looking into a hotel to stay at during the Mixtape Festival, and the prices are ridiculous. What are some nearby areas (within 10-15 minutes of Hershey Park) that we can find a hotel that is decently priced? Thank you in advance for your help!!!

Posts: 5039 07/19/2012 12:14 PM	Look off of Eisenhower Blvd in Harrisburg (It's located right off of 322/283), which offers quick access to Hershey. 10 minute drive without traffic. Check even downtown Harrisburg. Wyndham Garden Hotel Harrisburg/Hershey $119 a night Crowne Plaza Harrisburg/Hershey (downtown Harrisburg- that way if you want to go 'out' after the concerts, bars are all in walking distance) $131 Holiday Inn Harrisburg East $119 Hilton Garden Inn Harrisburg East $147 Staybridge Suites Harrisburg Hershey $118 Edited 1 time by LoungeChair 07/19/2012 12:18 PM.

Posts: 9842 07/19/2012 1:15 PM	It's not the safest walk back to any hotel from the stadium. There aren't sidewalks or anything... It's not like, in town. The airport isn't too far. 15 minutes maybe. Are you all renting cars or what? RIGHT by the airport there isn't much in the way of hotels though. The ones Jenna mentioned are close-ish to the airport and are definitely your best option.

Posts: 9842 07/19/2012 1:32 PM	Oh and the Hotel Hershey is always ridiculously expensive. It's about $500 every weekend in August, regardless of a concert. I'd only stay there if you're specifically looking for something fancy and expensive with upscale restaurants/spa experience.

Posts: 2092 07/19/2012 1:48 PM	We're roadtripping there from NYC so we'll already have a car. There's 5 of us (as of right now) going together. Does anyone know how the concert's selling by chance and if there will be any additional acts? My friends and I were thinking of driving up Friday but only going to the show on Saturday. We aren't 100% decided yet. I forget but what kind of afterparties will there be that weekend? I wish Hershey was near Fat Tuesdays but I know they are quite a ways apart. I guess I'll have to wait until I go to Vegas in September for that!

I'm probably going with a couple of people so it's not that bad if we split the cost. I know so many people going to this show. I think it's going to be so much fun! I'm just mad that I missed out on the VIP packages and the bsb BBQ. I haaaaate general admission.

Posts: 5039 07/19/2012 5:25 PM	Yeahhhhh walking to hotels from the stadium is advisable at all. The times people have been killed on HersheyPark Drive are when there's concerts/large events and people just walk wherever. Not good. And other than Hotel Hershey, you're not really going to find any hotels close to the stadium. Hershey Lodge would be at least a good 2-3 mile walk. Your best bet is to look at the hotels I posted. They're in a safe area and won't break the bank. If I were to make a choice, I'd probably choose the Crowne Plaza only because unless you want to go to bed ASAP after, you'll maybe want to make a stop at a bar. Then again, you'll probably be stuck in a parking lot until 12 am- trying to get out. Kat, are you coming in Friday night or just Saturday! I need to hobble to meet you haha. I won't be there though.
