Blow me!

So strange, yet so delicious! Mentally, I'm expecting each bite to taste like pizza, but then it tastes like pot roast and mashed potatoes!

My thoughts exactly when my sister brought it over. Apparently they make it where she works. It's pizza dough topped with mashed potatoes, carrots, and roast beef. Then you dip it in gravy.

It doesn't sound bad, kind of like a potroast sandwich. But I'd rather just eat my potroast with a fork.

Yeah, I see no need to add pizza dough to a yummy pot roast. Food is not better just because I can hold it in my hands

My sister made something similar to that once. She used biscuit dough for the "crust" and then did mashed potatoes and turkey gravy and then shredded baked chicken. It was pretty yummy. Though we really didn't eat it like a slice of pizza. It was more like an upside-down potpie. but it was still yummy.

You're absolutely right. I just don't think that really fits with this meal though. It's really no different than a traditional pot roast meal. And actually, a traditional pot roast meal would be slathered in gravy! Maybe I'm just a fatty, but I don't see pot roast as a "make the world fat" kinda meal.

I'd be interested to see the vegetable ratio in this meal.

Because contrary to the general American public's belief, potatoes (more than a small handful), red meat, dough and gravy are NOT in the "healthy" category.. In fact, if someone was in post-heart-attack recovery, they wouldn't be allowed to eat any of it.. lol

Vegetables are really the only healthy part of this meal, and I have a sneaking suspicion that based on the name "pot roast pizza" there weren't many..

I'm not at all saying it's HEALTHY. I'm just saying that it's not like I'm eating deep-fried bacon slathered in butter and dipped in crisco.
