Are you there just to make sure they all stay alive while at camp, or are you more advisers and there to be buddies and help the kids with problems, etc...? How did the conversation start? Like if it started with the kid, jokingly saying, "Dude I'm going to shave my balls!" and your co-worker responded with, "Use a clippers, not a razor, that would hurt man!" Then I don't know, I would take it as just silliness.

Posts: 8798 07/09/2012 12:17 PM	Well what was the context? Was the kid asking for advice on how to shave his genital region? If so I think it's okay for the counselor to gently give some tips. I mean it's better than the kid doing something blindly and hurting himself, right? And what kind of counselor is this? Is his position similar to a school nurse or something? Or did the counselor just decide to tell the kids to shave their balls? If the counselor was directing the kids to do something like that, then it's totally inappropriate because personal grooming is too sensitive of a topic.

Some kids genuinely would be too embarrassed to do that so I guess they just...don't have anyone to talk to about that stuff because it is inappropriate unless with you? I think every embarrassing hygiene question I had was answered by someone not my parents so a bunch of people deserve to be fired, tarred, and feathered right now just for helping me when I asked them for it ha ha.
