If not, I linked to a YouTube version. (There's also one in 10 parts if some of you would prefer to stream it in chunks.)

I picked up the 1995 widescreen extended version on VHS from Amazon this week and will be transferring it to DVD shortly. In retrospect I wish I'd gotten the 1991 widescreen extended VHS - I believe it contains a making-of documentary and the trailer, whereas the 1995 tape only has the trailer. But I'm happy to have the longer version of the film - the DVD only contains the shorter general release version due to the varying quality of the deleted footage and the general release print being more noticeable on DVD than on VHS or laserdisc. It's not intelligent, the plot is thin and predictable, but with all these legendary comedians, who cares? Definitely didn't feel like it was 3 hours long (remember, I have the restored extended VHS tape, not the DVD that just contains the 2 1/2-hour general theatrical release version) thanks to the action and pacing. Granted Ethel Merman's constant yelling kinda grated after a while - seriously, ma'am, you're not in a field and you're not on a Broadway stage where everyone in the back needs to hear you. You're on a movie set, it's ok to speak quietly on occasion. But when you have legendary comic talent like Spencer Tracy, Milton Berle, Johnathan Winters, Edie Adams, Jerry Lewis, The Three Stooges, Eddie "Rochester" Anderson, Jimmy Durante, and gobs of others, there's more than enough to enjoy. Definitely worth a look, and considering the 2 1/2 hour version was still a wild commercial success, it's probably enjoyable on DVD as well as on the restored 3-hour VHS. I'll probably rewatch The Love Parade this week. It's enjoyable enough, I wouldn't mind watching it again.

I don't like to watch many movies on YouTube cuz mine isn't as fast as I'd like either. I might if I have to tho. I did post a link to a YouTube playlist of a really good clear version of Of Human Bondage. You can find it here. I have a good copy on DVD from Brentwood Home Video - I think they ganked theirs from a DVD released several years back that's out of print now by a company called Roan Entertainment Group that was really good quality - practically the same as what they air on TCM. I think the Roan DVD is the source used for the YouTube upload. The Brentwood disc I have is part of a double feature called Great Literature On Film Vol 1 and is a flipper with that and Cyrano de Begerac with Jose Ferrer. (Who won an Oscar for his performance in that film. I have not watched that one yet, tho.) That one isn't on Amazon, but a 4-movie 2-DVD set from the same company with the film is on there, so it likely has the disc I have inside along with another one with two more films and can be found here. I don't know if it was just that I didn't like it or my attention span wasn't keeping up with the pace of the movie but I kept getting a bit lost. I'm glad that Philip did find happiness at the end though.

(I really loathe Ashley. I feel like he cries after climax. Scarlett woulda killed him in his sleep after a while just so she could be free to get some GOOD dick. But I digress...) But yeah, Philip is kinda creepy to be stalking her, especially after she treats him like garbage. I think Bette Davis' talent is making you like truly awful characters. Some of the characters she plays are just awful loathsome bitches and you almost root for her to win. Queen
