I'm used to dogs that whine or bark at the door when they need to go out. Pablo communicates totally differently, and it's taking some getting used to. 
He NEVER whines. When he needs something, he hops up on me and lightly bops me with his paws. At first I thought he was just playing, but slowly I'm realizing that he only does that when he needs water, food, or needs to go outside.
