Exactly. You also can't get around it because the entire time, all the examples they used for "imprinting" were LOVERS. None of them were simply "guardian" types. They were "meant to be/lovers." I get why people would pull the "guardian/protector" bit now --- because it's beyond creepy otherwise --- but what remains is what we were given throughout the series.

These kids are going to grow up and be their girlfriends. They are waiting until these young toddlers are big enough for a sexual relationship - which in Reneesme's case is going to happen years too early. There is no way in which that is not creepy, book or film. The little girl does look like Kristen and Rob and she's very cute, but that whole storyline will never stop grossing me out.

How could you write this and think this is a good idea? And even if the whole imprinting thing wasn't weird between Renesmee and Jacob, isn't it also weird that Jacob falls in love (whatever you wanna call it) with the daughter of a girl you wanted? Meaning you wanted both the mother and the daughter

Meaning you wanted both the mother and the daughter Imprinting is supposed to be a wolf thing (I think certain species of wolf do mate for life and that's probably where she's got it from?). She ties herself in knots trying to excuse the Bella/Jacob connection as being some kind of precursor to Reneesme. A name it still pains me to type. I really do think it was the lunacy of the 4th book that stopped me even being able to enjoy Twilight on the "I know this is all stupid but it's mildly diverting" level
