I was looking up products to control oily skin and came across milk of magnesia. The blog says to apply it with a makeup sponge and use it as a primer. smiley: nerd

I've tried it, I didn't really notice it do much to my face. It will be matte but it didn't stop the oiling too much.

I might try again though. BUt I heard best was is to spray it on, the sponge soaks up too much.

I use it every day. If I don't use it, I will be oily about an hour and a half after I leave the house. I've applied it with a cotton ball, foundation brush and a makeup sponge. Those three all left white residue on my face once it dried. That was okay for me because I'd just gently rub it off, spray a makeup setting spray on it or go over it with my makeup. I just recently switched to just applying it with my finger and rubbing it in.

Thanks! It's only $5 so I will give it a try.

I'll try all the methods mentioned and seek what works.

Of course! With my oily ass skin i've tried so much..

It works ok for me, works better in conjunction with other products. I only use it occasionally now.

I apply with my finger (and working rapidly) after I've applied my moisturizer.

Any other recommendations? I will try just about anything. I feel so gross.

I tried it and it just made me feel like my face was kind of chalky/coated in a film.
I use MAC's blot powder and Shiseido's blot papers.

I use Witch Hazel as my toner and it has helped tone down the oiliness. Unless I'm outside I don't really get super oily, before I'd be melting within two hours even if the air con was on
