Posts: 27450 06/08/2012 2:19 PM	But his quotes are only about HIV. I think there are several drugs out there which can keep the HI virus under control, so that people are not even tested positive anymore as long as they take them, but I don't think they can cure AIDS.

The article makes it sound like that's exactly what they did. They aren't just giving him drugs to keep HIV at bay, like are working for Magic Johnson -- they gave him blood stem cells from a person with a genetic mutation that makes his blood resistant to HIV. I know Magic's doctors say that his HIV is undetectable but they won't use the word cured. This guy seems to have actually been cured.

In his mind he was cured already so you couldn't talk abour it, bring it up, etc. He went back for the test and it was like his body had never contracted the disease and this is WITHOUT any of the medicine. Miracles do happen

Posts: 463 06/08/2012 7:03 PM	my two best friends are both hiv+. i would give anything to have them cured, but i am hesitant. i cared for aids patients for many years and it's not a disease i would wish on my worst enemy. my guy best friend almost died last nov. he is still very sick but his counts are no where low enough to be full blown aids. my girl best friend is also positive, has 3 negative kids, and a negative husband. she is extremely healthy but the slightest illness can be dangerous for her.i hope i live long enough to see this awful disease eradicated.

Miracles do happen I'm about to be that annoying naysayer and I hate those, but that's more likely to be a false positive than a miracle. The latest tests have a very good accuracy rate but there are various non HIV factors that can cause an incorrect result
