Screamed bloody murder like someone was killing them and the parents did nothing. I had finally had enough of it since the mother (stay at home so she could hear too) didn't say anything. I finally went over and yelled at them that screaming at the top of their lungs in that high pitched scream is meant for one reason and one reason only...an emergency. If you're bleeding or you broke a bone and need help you yell your bloody head off. Otherwise you save that voice otherwise we will never know if you kids hurt yourself. They were shocked I said anything to them. They actually stopped the screaming. Apparently even to elementary and middle school students the concept made sense. But get this. The mother came out another day while I was watering flowers and thanked me for talking to her kids. For real lady? She didn't know how to get them to shut up. I just said "your welcome" and went along with my day. She has no clue how to be a parent. Good grief.

That's how I feel about the bugs and motorcycles and stuff too. I hope it gets better. I'm having issues with my neighbors (though they aren't kids) slamming doors and having loud guests over at all hours. I don't get how people can be so inconsiderate and insensitive, adults and kids alike. I will never let any progeny be such a burden or issue to others. Julie, you're a great mom and have the sense to teach them how to be upstanding adults.

For years our families all knew each other and got along. Then one neighbor moved out and another moved in...with like ten kids. Who wanted to be friends with every other kid in the neighborhood. Every day, dozens of kids screaming and hitting our garage door with balls, rolling up and down our driveway with rollerblades. They wouldn't move when you'd go to leave your driveway. One day my mom came home and they wouldnt move to let her in. My mom tapped the car horn to alert them to her presence and suddenly the mom next door, who was never outside supervising, FLEW outside and started screaming at her to never honk at her kids again. Yeah like two days later they put their house on the market and moved to an adult community. LOL No kids around, which is pretty awesome on Halloween!

Obviously not when they're on yoru property and in your backyard but just because you don't want to go outside and play with your kids, or your kids don't go outside and play with the other neighborhood kids, doesn't mean they shouldn't. They're young and having fun! Don't be that lady

Alex the Goob wrote:I have a similar problem with the kids in my neighborhood. They're always outside in the street screaming (not just normal play screaming. Screaming bloody murder and swears/disgusting language) all day. They stand in front of cars and ride their bikes and skateboards in front of them too. They walk all over the lawn. They've tortured the turkeys and dogs around here, it's horrible. Nothing scares them. All of us have said stuff to them, they don't care. Kids these days are just the worst.

My mum would've clipped me across the ears.

Don't be that ladybut she already said she doesn't mind kids playing outside. it's the fact that they're literally screaming, and it's past 10pm at night that she's upset about. i think her reaction is perfectly reasonable, too. it honestly amazes me that anyone thinks it's ok to let their kids be that rowdy and disruptive at a time when most people are going to bed. it's extremely inconsiderate.
