Before this week he'd just stand around Emily quietly like a lost puppy and I never understood why she was into him. Hearing him talk to her one-on-one definitely helped, but his hair is still holding him back. I can't take him seriously with the hair. Did anyone else think it was odd when he was talking about how "if Ricki were baggage she'd be the best Chloe bag." What kind of a guy knows CHLOE bags? I barely know of Chloe bags! Hopefully he had a girlfriend who was obsessed with them, because otherwise it's a bit suspicious!

So I'm assuming he learned about that kind of stuff from them.

I'm almost certain his being financially set explains all of Emily's random roses, her crush, wanting to be "cool" around him, and questioning him about, "Where were you? I was giving you looks all day!" on group dates. Lol.

Love Jef! <3 He's turning into one of my most favorite people in the whole franchise. I can kind of relate to him with the awkwardness and taking it slow, similar sense of humor, etc. I just love his general vibe. I know he's no longer a strict Mormon, but his family is, his parents are mission presidents, he did a two-year mission and all of that. I heard he had those religious discussions with Emily off-camera, so I'm wondering how that'll factor into her decision and how it'll work out for them in the long run if she chooses him. I have a feeling she could go along with almost anything if the person is decent and financially secure, lol.

"She was livid," says a source. "She cut him right then and there. Her ego was shot." The show source says Maynard briefly stopped speaking to the producer. "She was Emily's confidante," says the source. "Emily felt betrayed." And more on the Jef connection: Before signing on as the Bachelorette, Maynard struck up a friendship with Doug Cartwright, the brother of Michelle Money, who competed with Maynard on The Bachelor. Coincidentally, Cartwright is longtime pals with contestant Jef Holm. "When Doug found out Jef was going on the show, he called Emily and told her what a good guy Jef is," says a source. "Doug said to keep Jef around. He really thought they would get along." Such a waste of time if she does end up with Jef. Why didn't this Doug guy just set them up to begin with?

But yeah, kicking him off of the show on the spot does seem like a very irrational reaction to something that happened so long ago. But a big part of the US Weekly article was her bad temper, so who knows! And this just re-confirms what we already knew, that the casting on these shows is so rigged. If you are just a normal person you have no shot of being on the show, so why do they even bother with the "If you want to be the next Bachelor, apply online!" crap? Everyone knows someone!

Because she's paid to be the Bachelorette. I read that she got paid $250,000 to do the show but then some other article I read said it was probably $100,000-$150,000. Either way, the pay's nothing to scoff at. Also, she was given a clothing budget of $300,000. And traveling around the world for free doesn't hurt either. A lot of people also feel that she likes the media attention and is a social climber.
