Posts: 2842 06/01/2012 2:08 AM	never met. We met on OkCupid 2 years ago and he had just moved to LA for a job after he graduated law school. I'm in Toronto. We've been talking on skype almost every day for 2 years and I'm finally going to meet him at his cottage in Michigan. I'm staying 4 days. Sex is optional and no pressure is felt. I'm leaving this Sunday... We've both been going on dates in our hometowns during this online "thing" we've been having, for what it's worth. Is this a bad idea? School me, JJB. UPDATE: So I'm staying in a hotel. I called him and he was fine with it. I'm still going 12 hours to meet him but will have my own private space. Thanks so much for all the comments. I met my ex online as well, and the very first time he visited me he only came for a weekend, and he booked a hotel for those days. From there on out the next trips he'd always stay at my house (where I lived with my family) because everyone was comfortable with each other at that point.

What if he's like Kathie Bates in Misery? If he were a real man he would go see you & stay at hotel & he'd meet you in a crowded place.It is a very bad idea. This is the kinda thing we all hear about on the News & it never ends well. This shouldn't even be a question. Use your common sense. Once the computer shuts off she has no idea what he does as she's not part of his real physical world.She doesn't really know him. She would need to spend real time with the guy not just talking on Skype or whatever but in a safe way as everyone else suggested.
