Zhang Ziyi, one of the stars of the 2000 hit "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," is embroiled in a scandal in her native China, accused of prostituting herself to wealthy Chinese businessmen Bo Xilai.
Zhang is demanding an apology from a Hong-Kong newspaper that published the claims that she'd slept with the "disgraced Communisit party official" for millions of dollars. The report adds allegations that she slept with several other businessmen and earned a total of at least $110 million.
Zhang, 33, calls the claims "completely untrue and extremely ridiculous."
"Friends have advised us to release a short statement and not take this seriously. The more you argue, the more you will stir up," writes Zhang's publicist in an official statement. "It would be better to step aside until people lose interest and the lies disappear. The innocent will always be innocent."
