Posts: 2851 05/31/2012 1:37 AM	I just finished "Doctoring the Mind" by Richard Bentall. It was about how, in the past 100 or so years, modern medical intervention hasn't done anything to improve the outcomes of mentally ill patients. He believes medication should be supplemented by intense talk therapy and that even severe psychosis can benefit from therapy. It was definitely an interesting read.

Posts: 4498 05/31/2012 1:44 AM Untitle-worthy '12	I just finished reading three books (Miss Peregrine's School For Peculiar Children which I unfortunately didn't like as much as I'd hoped, Marcelo and the Real World, then Amy & Roger's Epic Detour) Now I feel like reading something more humorous so maybe I might go to the library and pick up something by Christopher Moore. I keep meaning to start reading one of his books. Oh and I also just started on We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson.

Sophia Kinsella I like her books: Undomestic Goddess and Remember Me? I could not get into her Shopoholic series though. Didn't like at all.

They're such cute YA romances! I'm currently reading My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick (not too far yet, but liking it!), The Unfinished Work of Elizabeth D by Nichole Bernier (a little more serious than I'd like, but it's picking up), and The Glimpse by Claire Merle (I'm literally 5 pages in, so no judgment yet ).

Posts: 7117 05/31/2012 7:43 AM	I just started Miss Peregrine's Home. I'm also reading a book called The Disappearing Spoon. It has a bunch of anecdotal stories about each of the elements. For instance, gallium melts at 84 degrees. If you were to make a spoon with it and have someone use it to stir their hot tea or coffee, it would dissolve and the person wouldn't know what was going on!

Posts: 5517 05/31/2012 8:02 AM You're next	I am really struggling through Carry the One. I hate to stop reading a book once I started and parts of it are interesting but the story's plot is almost non-existent and it's not really taking me anywhere. It's like little flashes in the lives of several people but they're becoming so spaced and disjointed that I feel like I'm starting a new book over and over...has anyone else read it?
