I've watched it done on HGTV before but forgot all the steps! When I did mine, I used several layers of batting (you can buy big rolls of it at the craft store), but I know some people use foam, too. I just felt like the foam would be too bulky, and would bunch up when I wrapped the fabric around to the back. But, you can buy foam in various thicknesses, so if you got some that wasn't very thick to start with, it might not be so bad. I just liked the look and feel of the batting, and it worked well for mine. And I also used a staple gun. It wasn't expensive, really. But I found that I had to hammer in the staples, because, for some reason, they weren't going all the way in (probably something I wasn't doing right). I was also using a manual staple gun, as opposed to one of those air guns, so I'm sure I wasn't putting enough pressure (or force) into the stapling. It really wasn't a big deal to go behind and hammer the staples in, though.

I could never achieve the look I want without at least 3" foam and several layers of batting. Do you have a pic of yours by chance?
