Best shampoo/conditioners?

Posts: 625 05/21/2012 10:59 AM	I have tried Suave before and although everything else about it is good, it does make my hair lifeless How much are all of these other shampoos? I have seen some of them in Target before but the prices were like $15 for just a bottle of shampoo, which is rediculous!

Posts: 6168 05/21/2012 11:08 AM	I also use Tresemme and love it...I've tried a bunch of the different ones, for colored hair, for volume, anti-breakage, and I like them all. Last summer I swore by the Climate Control one because my hair hates humidity, and I think it works pretty well!

Posts: 15572 05/21/2012 11:37 AM	Agreed, Pantene is no good. I would say if you feel inclined to use it, use it once a year. It's nothing but deposits of silicone (wax) onto your hair after repeated use. I would also like to strongly suggest investing in a more expensive, salon quality shampoo: Matrix Biolage, Aveda (as I mentioned), Phyto, Purology, etc. if you want to see results. These types of shampoos contain less sulfates or none at all (resulting in less lather, which some people don't like). The more soap and harsh chemicals in shampoo, the more lather you will get, the more it strips your hair. If you are washing your hair 2-3 times a week as needed, investing in $45 worth of shampoo and conditioner should last you about 3-4 months, which is worth it, IMO.

Posts: 37792 05/21/2012 12:13 PM	Yeah I will stand by Tresemme, it's never left a filmy feeling on my hair over time. Pantene, Garnier, Infusium and even sometimes John Frieda (if I use it for more than a couple weeks) will star to leave my hair feeling filmy. I have also used the Organix brand before and liked it, but I didn't use it for a long period of time. My usual shampoo is either Redken All Soft or Biolage.

I wait for their (I think its semi annual) liter sale. The liters are usually around $12-$15. You can make two different trips or bring someone with you, use 2 of their $3.50 off coupons on each bottle and you cut the price down even more. Those liters last forever.

Posts: 3708 05/21/2012 2:09 PM	I really like the Matrix Sleek shampoos but theyre kind of expensive. They're $15-30 if I can remember right. I only buy them when I have extra money. Otherwise I stay with Garnier, they never let me down.

Posts: 1747 05/22/2012 5:49 AM	My hair is really hard to manage, it always needs moisture. When I can't get the expensive stuff I buy Infusium conditioning moisturizer. It's the only cheap conditioner that detangles my hair almost instantly. It makes my hair very manageable after I use it, and I can always see the difference in that my hair looks shiny.
