Justin Timberlake has only one regret in his career: sporting over-the-top costumes and seriously cheesy hair during his 'N Sync days.

"There were many moments in my teenage years where I succumbed to, um, the weirdness of the group I was in," he tells the May issue of Details. "And in trying to conform -- we're marionettes! -- I ended up looking like a moron."

These days, the singer-turned-actor, 31, takes a manlier approach to grooming. "I don't like when I see guys do too much hair gel. I don't mean Pauly D -- because that's basically performance art. But when you use enough hair gel that your hair becomes a sculpture -- and you wanted it to look that way? It's just weird."

Jessica Biel's fiance prefers to rock a "shaved head" instead of the platinum blonde curls he once sported. "It's scary the first time you do it, because you don't know what's under there -- you could have some weird knot -- but a shaved head is just so easy."The "Friends With Benefits" actor -- who moisturizes with Kiehl's Facial Fuel -- tells Details every man should go to "an actual barbershop" with "the whole hot-towel, old-school experience.""You sit there and get your hands massaged while getting a shave? Nothing wrong with that."

I find that amusing because I don't recall anyone else in NSYNC with cornrows all over his scalp except him. Dude didn't look so bad, but his Mom looked really awful.

So what?maybe working in NSYNC wasn't that great.

They probably rehearsed a lot,worked very hard and had a stylist who told them what to wear and not to wear,a pr manager who told them what to say and what not to say.

JT knows more about NSYNC then the NSYNC fans do,

I love NSYNC ,but JT is allowed to say whatever he wants sabout the time with NSYNC,because he was actually in the group.

Ill bet you if one of the other guys was saying this,people probably say '' LOL he is so right,i love it that he can look at his past and laugh about it'' but because its JT people respond like he hates NSYNC with a passion.

Yeah, he's never said that.

He has talked about how he dressed and his hair back then. I'm sure JC, Chris, Joey, and Lance all feel the same way about their own styles then also.

Why is everyone else always to blame? The guys wore whatever they wanted with their wardrobe, dyed and styled their hair the way they wanted. Looking at someone's past and laughing about it is saying something like 'Yeah, I thought it was cool at the time. I was a teenager and it was the 90s!' Claiming you were succombing to something like it was against your will is not. Did the PR manager make him get those NSYNC theme tattoos too? (I recall on Barbara Walters he was showing them off to the camera). Lets be honest, he's taking up designing now and needs credibility/people to trust that he has good taste.

I cannot believe Justin wishes he had never been a part of NSYNC. He can distance himself all he wants to NOW, but if it hadn't been for NSYNC he would have been a former Mickey Mouse Club kid who might be mentioned whenever another one gets an Oscar nod or something.

Like it or not, Jive fingered Justin when they signed NSYNC and it was inevitable that he would go solo once the going was good. He was completely set up for it, you could see that as the group evolved.

Justin doesn't have to admit how important NSYNC was to his career to make it true.

What did I miss? Where did he say he wishes he had never joined the group? Please direct m to the articles that says this. he said he looked like a moron when he was in the group. He did and so did the rest of them. In my world that doesn't mean he wishes he was never in the group. Please post the links where he did say that. Thanks.

This subject has been beaten to death. Justin has never said he wishes he wasn't in Nsync. Making fun of the way he looked back then and the clothes they had to wear is not nearly the sin some of you are making it out to be.
