Posts: 6041 05/02/2012 4:21 AM	I was browsing Match tonight and came across a guy who caught my eye. He said he was trying Match out because his friends had just gotten married and had met on Match. I fit all of his criteria of what he was looking for and we have several things in common. So I sent him a short casual email introducing myself. I got a reply...but it was one of the ones from the website saying "Sorry, so-and-so is not interested, but thanks for taking the time to write!". What the hell? His headline is "Does this site really work?" which made me laugh. It's not going to work if you reject someone based on one email! He didn't even look at my profile! What a weirdo.

Posts: 14730 05/02/2012 9:51 AM	He probably just looked at your picture or lack of. It's so strange to me that guys actually take the time to "reject" an email or wink. I think I've gotten about 100 winks/emails and either ignore or reply but never say "no thanks".

He decided he didn't want to and he saved you god knows what of stress. If he's going to turn you down based on just glancing at your picture (which you can't worry too much about because he's clearly a jerk if he's just picture-judging) then be glad he didn't waste a second more of your time because you want someone better than that anyway, don't you?

I don't care that this guy wasn't interested in me, I actually just met a guy from Match who seems really nice and is interested in getting to know me. It's more like I don't get why he'd go out of his way to 'reject' me when he could just ignore my email. I know all about being picky with physical appearance, I'm pretty picky myself. But if you're on there and turning down every person who isn't 100% your type, you might be missing out on a great person. I'm starting to learn that myself with the current guy I'm seeing.

He probably didn't realize it would send you an email. And wtf, you're already seeing someone and you're complaining about someone not being interested in you?

I honestly don't care that this guy wasn't interested in me, it's his loss. I'm just saying if that's the way he's going to go about it he's going to have a tough time finding someone on there!

But I don't send rejection emails to those guys that email me and I'm not attracted to. I also at least check out their profile to see if they have other pictures or if there's something they write on there that I might like. I don't judge them based on one picture and email unless they're totally creepy.

That's more than enough info; why do you expect him to read your profile too? What more could he learn from that (especially if you're not physically his type)? And I actually think sending a response to say 'no' is classier than just ignoring someone; I find that rude. I think your feelings are a bit hurt about being rejected (which is totally fine and normal) and you're trying to make it seem like something is weird about this guy, when he did nothing weird. Sounds like this other guy might be promising, so good luck with him.
