Posts: 15769 05/01/2012 7:51 PM	its normal. i didnt feel buyers remorse until i signed my papers on the house. i went from feeling excited to petrified and drank an entire bottle of wine that night trying to figure out how i could get out of it.

Posts: 801 05/01/2012 8:08 PM	It's just the cost that's freaking me out. I'm putting down a huge percentage, so it's not the mortgage that worries me. It's the other expenses. I figure it will be about $13,000 a year in taxes, utilities, internet (no phone or cable since I wouldn't use it), alarm system, insurance. I have the money, but I'm such a saver! It's hard to watch money go bye-bye! I'll be living alone unless I decide to get a roommate until the boyfriend moves in...which won't be until marriage in a year or two. That scares me, too, since I've NEVER lived alone!

Posts: 28998 05/01/2012 8:14 PM WWFSMD	I'd be in the same spot as you. I freak out over the littlest change. I don't know how I'll ever buy a house or have kids . When I start feeling that way though, I just have to remind myself that it'll all be okay. And for you, especially since you're in the financial position to buy a house and know you can cover the expenses, it'll be okay! Just keep thinking that ...and then think of how much fun it's going to be to decorate, pick paint colours, shower curtains, furniture, everything!

Posts: 8847 05/01/2012 8:15 PM	I would say it's very normal. Every saver I know says the same thing about parting with money (especially on a major purchase). But since you're a saver, you're gonna be fine. And I say enjoy living alone while you can. It's really not as bad as it sounds. Unless, of course, you can't stand to be alone. Congrats and enjoy!!

We already signed the papers for our new house and are about to move next month and as happy and excited as I am about it I am worried about money and all of that. I know where we live now is far too small and we need to get out of here but I hate change and the thought of all the stress that comes with moving (with two little kids and a dog), is so ugh. It'll be okay. It's a big deal committing like this, you're not alone. Any time I commit to something big I have second thoughts and doubts, it's just anxiety.
