There is nothing stopping anyone, but themselves...if you guys want to keep making excuses for your life then go ahead, but get used to the fact that you'll have to watch everyone else actually living theirs.Again... easy for you to say. I'm not putting anyone down for getting up every morning and going to work or for what it takes for them to do it. You can think I'm making excuses all you want if it makes you feel better and justified. I know differently. Thank you for not putting me down for going to work every day to support your ass. Unless you are doing everything you can to conquer your disability, such as therapy and applying EVERY DAY for jobs that you could do, or at least ATTEMPTING jobs that right now you think you could not do, then I think you are making excuses. Everything Momo said was spot on.

And you're one of the reasons why I DON'T talk about it. You don't know what I go through every day... you don't know what I struggle with or what I've done and do to conquer it. You can think I'm making excuses all you want. Because that's what you do: you judge what you don't know.

You don't know that she doesn't have knowledge of what you're going through. Maybe she has a close relative who has this same situation.

I got stuck in a rut when I was unemployed and started suffering from anxiety, I even quit going to school because of it and ended up failing some of my classes. The only thing that helped was when I ran out of money and had no other choice than to get a job. The forced socialization really helped me to overcome my anxiety. Even now sometimes if I have a few days off and I don't really leave the house I start to feel it creeping back up. I believe that fear breeds fear and if you immerse yourself in your fear you will break the cycle.

It is often extremely difficult for me to make myself be social but I've found for me giving in to the temptation just makes things worse.

I always advise them not to let that doubt or fear paralyze them. Most people do not walk right into a dream career they always knew they wanted. It is very common to feel lost and not have a career direction, the important thing to do is to pick yourself up and try different things instead of being immobilized by that doubt or lack of direction.

JT got me lovestoned wrote:I'm glad someone made a topic on this. I'm 20 and in a rut. I have a good $18/hr casual job, had that since I was 16. But it's just retail. I went to University for 1 year for screenwriting/creative writing but dropped out after a year. I guess I lost inspiration/motivation and I lost interest. That was in 2010 and now I want to go back to school but I have no idea what for. Since then I've just been working but I feel like such a waste of space and having no future in mind terrifies me. I'm still passionate about writing but I wanted to get into the production side and those kind of subjects are hard to get into. In addition to that, screenwriting and movie/tv production isn't exactly the easiest field to be employed in, so I'm thinking of something more practical to major in. For now I'm looking for a second job to at least occupy my spare time while I figure out what to do.
