Posts: 14311 04/23/2012 5:44 PM	Stella and Chewy's is another option. Nature's Variety's dehydrate raw is way overpriced, but their premade frozen raw is excellent and affordable.

Posts: 559 04/23/2012 5:47 PM	Nature's Variety makes frozen raw as well as dehydrated raw. I would look into them. Stella and Chewy's is a good brand but more expensive than Honest Kitchen, I think.

Posts: 5692 04/23/2012 6:35 PM	I thought about trying NV, but not sure. From what it looks like I will be give a whole bag to each of my dogs. I tend to feed less that what they say on the package, since it is too much. I know I have seen it around. How is their canned food? I do want to try their grain free dry food, but I am between them and one or two other brands.

Posts: 14311 04/23/2012 7:49 PM	How heavy are your dogs? Their dry kibble and canned Instinct line is amazing. I feed the Lamb Limited Ingredient Diet kibble plus green tripe, but we've tried the chicken, turkey and duck and rabbit (my dog loved the rabbit flavour best). He really loved their frozen raw too, but the bone content made him extremely constipated. Most dogs can handle it, but he just couldn't. I would recommend ANYTHING from Nature's Variety. The quality is amazing and the price is reasonable.

They do not seem to mind duck. I want to stick to something that is grain amd gluten free as much as I can. I am thinking of trying Acana too.

Posts: 559 04/24/2012 10:51 AM	Acana is a great brand. I would caution against feeding rabbit in any dog food brand because even the good brands (Honest Kitchen, Nature's Variety) source their rabbit from China.

My dog loves it, and I just adopted a new dog this past weeken who is switching to it right now. It's awesome!

Posts: 14311 04/24/2012 7:57 PM	Yep, that was me. Potatoes, pork, turkey, carrots, milk/cheese, byproducts, corn, etc., etc. This and the NV LID (lamb) are the only two I could find!
