For the past two weeks or so, my right ear has felt very itchy inside. I did a hydrogen peroxide rise and it didn't help too much. Then the other day (like a massive idiot) I got so fed up I itched the inside of my ear with a pen cap. Since reading up on things, I've learned how horribly horribly stupid that was.
Anyway, since then my ear has been giving me a bit of random pain now and then, my hearing in that ear goes out for a few seconds every now and then, and I believe my balance might be slightly off (not sure if it's my ear, or my hangover
). I tried to clear it out with a q-tip an hour ago, and I've been getting slightly more pain ever since. Not bad pain, just like an intermittent ache.
I have like a 12 hour day of school tomorrow so I won't really be able to see the doctor tomorrow. Basically my options are to go to the medical center now, or hope it doesn't get worse, wait until Tuesday morning and go to the doctor. Since I'm not in a huge amount of pain I'm not sure if it's worth it to go to the medical center now. Could this be anything other than an ear infection? And if not, is it true that very mild ear infections can clear up on their own? That's what I've been told before but I don't know if I believe it.
I fully anticipate the first 5 replies to be either people telling me to go to the doctor without reading what I wrote, or yelling at me for sticking something in my ear. Don't let me down JJB.
