Affleck, Timberlake lace up for 'Runner, Runner'
New Regency thriller to be directed by Brad Furman
New Regency has tapped Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake to star in its newly acquired dramatic thriller "Runner, Runner.""Lincoln Lawyer" helmer Brad Furman will direct from a script by "Rounders" scribes Brian Koppelman and David Levien.
Appian Way's Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, Double Feature's Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher and Stone Village Pictures' Scott Steindorff will produce.
Stone Village will co-finance the project while 20th Century Fox will distribute.
Pic is set in a $30 billion world of illegal online gambling. Appian Way originally developed the project at Paramount, which just recently sold it to Regency.
Timberlake, who recently starred in New Regency's "In Time" opposite Amanda Seyfried, is set to join the pic while Affleck is in final negotiations.
Affleck directed and stars in "Argo," which Warner Bros. will unspool in September.
Eric Roth, New Regency's evp, business affairs, negotiated the deals with LBI Entertainment on behalf of Appian Way. CAA negotiated on behalf of Furman.
