I'm a heathen though, so I don't give a shit This always baffled me... Saturday is considered the seventh day of the week and I'm pretty sure even back in bible days that this was the case ( I could be wrong, this is just what I believe). Considering Jesus was a Jew and even the ten commandments talk about keeping the Sabbath (Seventh) day holy and the Lord resting on it.... so yeah based on the bible and every calendar I've ever seen in my life I think Sunday is the start of a new week

So all they know is that if they go to church on Sunday, Sunday must be the day the Lord rested and therefore is the last day of the week.

If someone is a protestant christian, like a Seventh Day Adventist, then you still hold the sabbath on saturday. If you're not, then you believe that Jesus did away with the Mosiac Law in the new testament and therefore don't hold sabbath on saturday. Anyway..Sunday is the weekend. Monday is a weekday.
