I freaking LOATHE that guy. He's such a crock. He's so far from being genuine and every time he chimes in on "troubled celebrities" like he knows anything I want to vomit. I especially dislike how he treats women on Teen Mom, somehow they're always at fault and he sides with the guys no matter what they've done to them. He's just a piece of shit and I can't believe anyone takes that asshole seriously. Remember when he was on that sex show on MTV when we were kids? Loveline? Bitch please, Dr. Drew, with your 'expert opinions'.

Oh Here go Hell Come

I hate him but my ex who is a psych nurse and works with Dr Drew said he's apparently very respected in the mental health industry and knows his stuff. He still annoys the hell out of me though.

I met him and Bill Maher at a Christmas party. I was surprised at how nice Dr. Drew was and he was there with his wife. Same thing goes for Maher. He was much different than his persona.

If it wasn't for Dr Drew, who else would provide us with the shameless, self-serving diagnosis of celebrities and newsmakers that we need?

Doctors of his [once] prestiged background don't typically sell out and agree to "tag" people they've never met and/or have any actual medical history on the way he has, you know.

Really? I like Bill Maher & I'll catch Real Time with Bill Maher when I can, but no matter what he always comes off as an arrogant man. Nice to know he's different than what I perceive him to be.

Oh, I'm sure he's still arrogant. I guess I was expecting him to be a full on dick, even though I love his show. smiley: laugh

I find that a good number of celebrities are different than their 'image'. Then there are those that are ALWAYS on like George Clooney. Meh.

I think Dr. Oz is ridiculous. I can't even force myself to sit through one of his shows.

This is all Dr. Phil's fault (idk if that's true but I don't like him either) - all of these crappy medical/psychology shows started popping up after him.

Yeah, I always enjoyed Loveline but even back then it was a running joke about how no matter what problem a girl called in with, Dr. Drew would think she had been sexually abused. As if any girl with the slightest hint of sexual desire must have been abused, because girls can't possibly enjoy sex

As an avid listener of Loveline since the mid 90s- I dont think Dr. Drew made a connection between sexual abuse and sexual desire. Its more like abuse and terrible choices, repeated bad situations or... baby voices hah. And come on- how often was he right? He was far more right than wrong that people had terrible relationships with their father or had been abused etc etc. I think after awhile it just became so easy for him to recognize that it sounded a little tired to some people.

I think Dr. Drew and the slew of information Loveline provides for people that have no other way of accessing/knowing certain things is invaluable.

I dont really follow his career outside of Loveline though.

He's just annoying and tries to scare everyone about everything. Listening to him, everything you eat and drink will cause you to get cancer, get fat, and die. My mom and grandma love him and they irritate me every time they try to pass his advice off to me.
