I am so late in this. I just went to the BBCAmerica website just to see if there was an airdate set for series 4. Much to my surprise, the picture for s4 has Lenora with Tom McNair(the werewolf whose "Dad" died) and some other dude. Upon further inspection, Russell was also in the picture but just on the side. Did some research and apparently, our George announced his departure last November!!!
. I do random checks on his Twitter in the past since I have no Twitter account and I so missed that. Sinead's gone too but don't care much about that,
.
There's an article online that I find so sad and sweet because it really shows how much Russell loved Aidan. Those 2 need to work together again!! http://www.sfx.co.uk/2011/11/16/russell-tovey-on-leaving-being-human/
I was sooo sad when Aidan decided to leave and fucking wept buckets when Mitchell died. I wondered about the future of the show since what hooked me and I can safely say, what hooked others too, was Mitchell and George's friendship. Although I am apprehensive over the shakeup, I will give S4 a chance.
I just finished series4's first episode. I cried too with George's death but not as much as when I did with Mitchell's. I think Mitchell's had more emotional impact because of his dynamic with George. The new vamp hasn't impressed me yet and I know it's too early and should give him more time. It's just that the moment I saw Aidan and Russell individually and together, I loved them immediately.
The whole thing felt a bit rushed. They didn't bother to even show Nina or Wyndham's death. After all that huffing and puffing on that last episode, you'd think we'd get a scene where George kills Wyndham. We didn't even see George mourn Mitchell and then George dies too.
I think if they keep writing good material, the show can continue despite losing the original hearts of the show. It still manages, in the most dramatic moments, to deliver humorous lines like "Twattage", "I meant have a shower, not storm the bat cave", "Even MacNair gave me a name and he ate my parents",
. I also hope they give Annie something better to do than sit and cry.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for the show. I did miss Mitchell. George isn't George without Mitchell and I can see why Russell decided to leave. I really hope the show can survive.
Btw, it was a hoot to see Daddy Weasley,
.
The actor that plays Tom MacNair always bothered me. I just kept thinking I've seen him somewhere before. The thing was I never bothered to know his name till this episode and if I did, I would've known why. I had no idea he was Misifts' Lauren Socha's brother!
. I've seen him somewhere before not because I actually have. He just looks soooo much like his sister,
