I don't really see how this is UPS' fault. They just deliver the package according to the instructions. If the shipper told them to leave it on the doorstep, that's what they'll do. It's that the delivery people aren't even ringing doorbells to let people know that a delivery has been made that has everyone upset. Fortunately UPS has always let us know when there is a delivery.

The drivers are trained to ring doorbells, knock on doors, call out "UPS", etc. But with their top counts going up every other week, it's making it harder to provide the good customer service they're known for. With the layoffs they've had over the last 4-5 years, everything is turning upside down. Some centers have gone from having a 100 truck dispatch to having a 65-70 truck dispatch, it's not as easy as it looks. It can be back breaking.
