2 days ago I fell at work and landed hard on my knee. At first the pain was on the outer side of my knee but that night it hurt on the top of my kneecap and on the inside next to the kneecap but I only felt pain if I leaned against something. The next day I went to a quick care place and they took 4 x-rays. The doctor said she didn't see anything on the x-ray but that she wasn't knowledgeable about that & would be sending it to someone who could read them. I ask if they would be doing an mri but she said they were expensive & she wouldn't order one unless something showed up on the x-ray or if my pain continued for more than 2 weeks. Last night the back of my leg was swollen a little below the knee and all day today it's been hurting. It's not a sharp, intense pain but a dull pain. There's also a sharp pain in the crease of my kneecap towards the inside of my knee when I touch it. It feels similar to what a deep bruise feels like. Should I really wait 2 weeks to see if the pain continues or should I push for the doctor to order an mri now? I'm on my feet the whole time while I'm at work and I'm just concerned that if something is damaged in there I could be making it worse.
