After all, what better way to ring in the new year than by following a day of productivity? Or you could forget productivity and watch zombies all day... AMC is giving you that opportunity as the network is set to air a full-on Walking Dead marathon this Saturday. If getting caught up on The Walking Dead is on you list of New Year’s resolutions, you’re in luck as you’ll now be able to do that on Saturday and start 2012 having already absorbed as much of the excellent zombie drama as possible. As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, AMC is set to air every episode of The Walking Dead on New Year’s Eve. The marathon, which begins with the series premiere, titled “Days Gone By,” kicks off at 11:00 a.m. on December 31st. The whole thing leads up to the second season’s mid-season finale, which is set to air at midnight and will bring you up to date on the series. It's like for people trying to survive they aren't all that smart. "Oh look! A car graveyard with dead people inside them. Lets stop here and waste some water (that they must really need), and try on clothes, while a bunch of Zombies (We couldn't see before, even with binoculars) come to kill us!!" I know it's a tv show, and your not supposed to think about it, but still! That being said, I still fucking love this show!

I just made a post about this because the megathread didn't come up when I did the first search. Anyway, I'll just get rid of that one and post what I was asking in here, before I read anything else in the post. OMG! This show is absolutely phenomenal!! I seriously can't believe a show about zombies could be that good. My husband netflixed it Saturday and I got irritated at him because I figured the last thing I'd ever get into would be a show like that! Boy was I wrong. We finished all 6 episodes that afternoon and I went and downloaded season 2 (part A). I'm wondering if I should wait until February to watch it so it's closer to when they start back with the continuation of season 2. What would you guys recommend? I'mkind of dying to see what happens. But I don't want to have to wait forever to see. Opinions? Should I just go ahead and watch it now? Are there any really good fansites or spoiler sites? Anyone else here into it and would be up for discussing it?? smiley: laugh

While we still have more of Season 2 to anticipate, the cable network announced today that the third season will consist of even more episodes. AMC announced back in October that they were renewing The Walking Dead for Season 3. While the first season of the zombie-apocalypse series, which is based on Robert Kirkman’s graphic novel, consisted of a meager six episodes, the series returned last fall for a thirteen-episode season, with the first seven episodes airing in 2011 and the second half of the season set to resume next month (February 12th). Per AMC’s blog, the network announced today that Season 3 will consist of sixteen episodes. Sixteen episodes isn’t just a lot for The Walking Dead, it’s a sizable order for any AMC series. Breaking Bad and Mad Men typically air 13-episode seasons on the channel. Noir Where Frank Darabont goes, Jon Bernthal may follow. Word is, the actor, who currently plays a pretty big role in AMC’s The Walking Dead may be looking to star in L.A. Noir, Darabont’s upcoming drama pilot for TNT. So, what does this mean for Shane on The Walking Dead? From the sound of it, that may be looking a bit far ahead. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Bernthal, who plays Shane in The Walking Dead, is “circling the lead in Darabont’s TNT pilot, L.A. Noir.” Per THR’s report, it’s “unclear” whether or not this part, should he get it, means he’d be leaving The Walking Dead.  As of right now, Bernthal’s character Shane plays a fairly big role in AMC’s zombie-drama The Walking Dead. So, assuming he gets this part and L.A. Noir goes to series, it’s very possible he’ll have to leave The Walking Dead. Given the dark nature of the AMC drama, which has people fairly regularly encountering flesh-eating zombie-types, killing off a major character isn’t an improbability, especially one who, from what I understand, has already outlived the comic book version of the character on which he’s based. Bernthal migrating from the popular AMC drama to TNT would reunite him with Frank Darabont, who was the showrunner of The Walking Dead up until last summer. Darabont is not only set to write the pilot for L.A. Noir, which is described as a period mobster drama, but he’ll also direct. The role Bernthal is up for is Joe Teague, an LAPD cop “at the heart of the series that revolves around the police force's pursuit of mobster Mickey Cohen.” At this point, the only thing confirmed is that he's up for the part, but it'll be very interesting to hear more news about this, especially if he's cast in the pilot and what it will mean for The Walking Dead, should the pilot be given a series order. http://www.cinemablend.co...-Pilot-L-Noir-38882.html

He's one of my favorite characters and I wanted him to be untouchable. But if he does leave the show for that LA Noir, I'll tune in to that too if it happens. But deep down, I kinda hope he doesn't and gets to stay in TWD. I do want him to do other things if he wants to, but I would miss him as Shane, though.
