(And by mofos, I mean ‘the best internet family a girl could ever have'!

I’m so proud of myself for being proactive!

*shameless self-complimenting*
I’ve really worked my butt off from the second I got there and I really made an effort to fit in and to become ‘needed’ in my department. People pretty much thought I had been there for months, not weeks, because I picked things up really quickly. I believe that played a large part in them offering me the position.
*end of back-patting*
It pays more than my last full-time job, great benefits, nice people to work with, my boss is very kind and it’s really a step towards an actual career, not a continuation of the series of jobs I’d been having. The only downside is the workload is tough. (But it seems par for the course now for employees to work a lot more now that companies are asking you to do the job of 2 people, so I think 'long hours' are now normal at any company.)
I can’t believe that me just calling up this company to ask if they had anything open led to this. I can finally move forward with some things in my life (not having a steady job has put a hold on so much).
2011 started off AWFUL and I thought it would be yet another year of nothing but bad times. But I’m really hoping that this is the start to a good life again.
