What I don't get is this: If he is both President and CEO, and the CEO does things when the President is not rhere, who is going to run it when Justin is not there?

Some guy from BMG is the President, Justin is the chairman and CEO.

I just thought it was weird that he was going outside of Sony/BMG to start up his label. To me that sounds like there may be some trouble brewing. He may be ready to jump ship when his contract expires or use this new deal to get more money out of Jive. It has to have ruffled a lot of feathers that he didn't stay in house.
I think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Honestly...not a whole lot. Usually a chairman has a vote on the board of directors....which would make sense here if Justin started the company. CEO and President in a smaller organization are often the same. In a larger organization there is a CEO who oversees several Presidents (i.e. of marketing, finance). As for the trouble brewing. I think, again from a legal standpoint, Justin doing this outside of Jive/BMG was essential. Being tied to the same company he's an artist with would be a conflict of interest....maybe not now, but in the future.
