This might be a really stupid question, but I have some English grammar tasks that I have to do, and English is not my first language. I'm supposed to analyze some sentences syntactically and there's a sentence that I can't get right:
"I headed first for Gamla Stan, the old town, on the far side of the Strömsbron bridge"
I know that "I"=subject, "headed"=predicator(verb), "Gamla Stan"= direct object(right?), "the old town, on the far side of the Strömsbron bridge"=adverbial(optinal), but what is "first for"?? Probably the stupidest question ever, I know! I suck at grammar...
Thanks in advance!
