Designer John Galliano Arrested in Paris

designer John Galliano was briefly arrested Thursday night in Paris
after hurling insulting remarks at a couple, according to Reuters.The British designer, 50, was out drinking at a trendy Parisian bar when the altercation occured. According to the Huffington Post, Galliano was taken into custody for alleged assault and for making anti-Semitic remarks. The incident occured in the Marais district, the historic center of Paris' Jewish community.
He was taken to a Paris police station for a sobriety test where he tested over the legal limit.
No charges were filed against the high-fashion designer, and the police escorted him back to his home. A police source claims the outburst was a result of stress leading up to Paris Fashion Week, which begins Monday.
Galliano took over as Dior's creative director in 1996. He has lived in Paris for the past 20 years
