2012 Sherlock Series 2 has begun!

I'm actually surprised there haven't been more Scottish characters (the inn keeper in Hounds aside), as Moffat is Scottish. I mean, hello, he cast Karen Gillan in Doctor Who. I'd not seen True Blood, I just assumed Pulver had a bad Louisiana accent like the rest of the cast. When she was cast, I knew she had a musical theatre background, so I was hoping Irene would still be a singer. Here's what I had hoped initially for Irene: she would be an American singer along the lines of a female Josh Groban, maybe touring in the UK, newly married, and the whole "Sherlock and love" thing would be him trying to get his head around the fact that two people can commit to each other and connect on emotional level. The photograph in question would have to be somewhat salacious in nature, how else could a photo threaten an aristocracy these days? Of course, she would also outsmart him and go off and live happily ever after. And there would be chemistry out the wazoo. Alas, I am not writing Sherlock!

Posts: 6071 03/26/2012 12:28 PM High-Functioning Sociopath Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Has anyone watched Benedict in "Wreckers"? I watched it twice this weekend, and I'm still a bit...confused. Not in a bad, "I want to kill myself that was so depressing" way, just in a "I'm not sure that movie really had a plot or was at all what I was expecting" way. Benedict is lovely in it, but also sort of fragile and angry and brooding. I do think he was the least effed up of all the characters, and to be honest, it's really Claire Foy's movie. Benedict doesn't have a TON of screen time. Anyone seen "Third Star"?

Also, the CD (and MP3 download) of the series one soundtrack is available now and the series 2 soundtrack will be released on May 8th. Or if you're like me, you ordered them both from Amazon UK and have had them for a month already. The series 2 soundtrack is really, really excellent. Irene's Theme is gorgeous and One More Miracle makes me cry every time.

I actually have a gift card leftover from Xmas and am contemplating getting a Blu-ray player. Sherlock series 2 would probably be my first Blu-Ray, but I have no clue what kind of player to get.

You won't forgive him for Blink because you hated it OR because it gave you nightmares? If it was the first, I'm gonna disagree with you on that because that was one of the BEST and scariest of DW episodes since the reboot! There was a even a poll on the scariest villains way back and the Weeping Angels were number 1 and the quote, "whatever you do, don't blink!" is considered one of the most memorable DW quotes. I LOVED that episode. Being Catholic, that messed me up and made me look at angel statues differently, . Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield always seemed familar to me when they became famous. I had forgotten that they were both in different episodes of WD. Didin't recognize Carey because she had long hair on Blink. As for the British doing American accents, when they're someone I don't know, sometimes I can tell they're faking an accent. I remember some celeb saying that to do an American accent, they have to relax their tongue and speak like they're lazy(i know, ). I'm sure they can tell too when someone is faking a Brit accent as well. Btw, watch out for Rupert Graves on DW!

Yeah, years later, my now 11y/o neice who I've turned into a DW fan during Catherine Tate's run,wanted to know what episode scared me the most and I told her it was Blink. We watched it together and there was a scene when we both screamed. I think it was when the boyfriend turned around and the WA was there, . She doesn't look at angel statues the same way anymore either, . She likes Amy, finds Donna HILARIOUS(quotes and copies her a lot) but her absolute favorite is Rose---she thinks she's the prettiest thing. Random Sandwiches, I agree---theys hould have left the mystery of the WA alone. Btw, out of the 4 dark-haired Benedict pics, I only like one. He looks effeminate on the other 3, . I do like the Gingerbatch pics though.

I'm so hoping they will somehow get all the recent companions and Doctors together and I can only imagine what Donna will say to Eleven! I also hear they're bringing the Angels back this season - oh, Moffat, bad idea! And I think you commented in the other thread about the new companion - seriously, another pretty young white thing? Really? Why not a guy? Why not an alien with non-human features? Why not an older woman like Donna? (Miranda Hart would be amazing!) Moffat sometimes strikes me like Joss Whedon used to, all about terribly young and pretty people in his projects. And he thinks he knows what kids want, I've seen him in interviews talking about how kids only like watching teens in adventures, and that's crap! Doctor Who needs to be diversified and stat! People all over the world watch this show. Yeah, the dark haired pics were from when he was filming Sherlock series 2. The Gingerbatch ones are from the time when he was doing Frankenstein and promoting War Horse. It's not exactly his natural color (his real color is more like what's in Wreckers, a very dark auburn) but I do love it!

Remember the wordless exchange/charades they did? My neice does that all the time ala Donna, HI-LARIOUS!! As for Moffat's choice of a new companion, as you prolly noticed on my other post, I laughed it off. It was just sooo typically Moffat, . No surprise there, . If he had chosen the rumored Ben Browder, I would have really been shocked and might have even applauded simply because it would have been so unlike him. Btw, Random Sandwiches, I also LOVE Joss Whedon, . During one red carpet Baftas when Matt and Benedict were nom'd, Matt and Catherine the Great were interviewed together. Believe me, I was just "AAAAAARGGGGHHHH!!! Moffat get them together!!!", . I want Catherine back on!! I miss Donna sooo much. Yeah, I read the WA will be on this season and will have something to do with the departure of the Ponds. I heard there will be a permanent death. I love the Ponds. I truly hope Moffat doesn't kill them off. I want their happily ever after with or without The Doctor.

I wonder how he feels now that he's ten years older? Have you been watching Catherine on The Office? Nellie Bertram's like a female Michael Scott, and I hate her in the best possible way. I think it's a bit early to know if the character will be featured, and although he was on an episode of DW, I'm not sure either Gatiss or Moffat appreciate that he's so aggressive or taken it to Twitter. Might work against him.

I had to restrain myself from rolling my eyes as I calmly explained that "Frankenstein" would be screening in June at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, but that he would not actually be there. Ah, youth!

Both Frankensteins and Sherlocks!! I'm driving to FW if that were true! 2 HOTTIES for the price of ONE! As for Moffat and Whedon, I learned early on to avoid knowing about the geniuses of shows I love because I just end up getting disappointed/annoyed with them. Kinda like Wizard of Oz? You're better off not knowing what's behind the curtain. Now, if they were ala Polanski, I definitely want to know so I can boycott whatever project/work he has. As for Mark Sheppard, I agree. All this over-enthusiasm and campaigning might backfire on him. Moffat might get annoyed by the pressure and just flip him off and THAT he is soooo capable of, . Btw, can I just say how amazing Mark Gatiss is? He is sooo multi-talented. He can write and he can act and he does both brilliantly. I'm crushing on his gifts!! I have to admit, since Steve left The Office, I have not really watched. I only google Catherine's scenes and that's it. That ship is sinking. They should have ended the show when Steve left. Oh Ben Browder, LOVED him in Farscape and Stargate SG1. Didn't think any replacement of Richard Dean Anderson would suffice but man, Ben was fine, fine, fine. He can talk to me all night.
