When I saw the trailer for Catfish, it was preceded by 2 screens that said something to the effect of 'This is not real. This is not based on true events.' Then last night on 20/20, the guys from the movie were on and they gave an interview as if the whole 'documentary' was real. They were even asked if it was at all fake, and they said no. 20/20 also interviewed the woman! So it seemed like like the documentary must be real.... Wtf? Does anyone know? This makes no sense.

And for that woman to be interviewed, why would she do the interview if it's not real? She looks like a lunatic to the world now. Unless she did it for money..

Afterwards they said "just true", referencing to how the documentary is actually true(supposedly). So even though much of the story is based on fictional characters, it was still a true documentary. Yep exactly what I am thinking "The Blair Witch Project". I mean the three leads would show up at all the events that year and people still thought it was real and they all died. Not sure about Catfish or what it is about, but I guess I need to wiki it or go to IMB. I have seen the commercials but paid it no mind.

When I first saw the trailor, I wanted to see the film, but then I watched 20/20, thinking they wouldn't give it away, but then they did. They told the entire story. I was thinking well now I don't need to see it.

All it did was creep me out that anyone I've talked to on the internet is really some creepy dude in the basement somewhere pretending to be 9798797 personalities online. Not sure if I buy its all real. Some of it? Sure. Like the basic plot structure could be real but its greatly embellished and the fact the guy just happens to be a documentary film maker..

Seriously when I had first seen the trailer I thought I might go see it, after seeing 20/20 all it did was make me not want to see it. The 'big twist' wasn't really all that big and it really just told me the whole story.
