The Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector General, is seeking a Writer-Editor, GS-11/12.
The position is located in Downtown Washington, DC, at 14th and New York Avenue, NW , convenient to Metro. It has a promotion potential to GS-13.

DUTIES: (The duties described reflect the full performance level of this
position)
-Writes and edits a wide variety of material, interacting with contributors at all organization levels, often under tight deadlines. Products include the OIG s Semiannual Report to Congress, the biweekly newsletter, directives, handbooks, procedures,
brochures, posters, and other materials.
-Performs a variety of editorial duties related to editorial production work, including working closely with desktop publishing software and with designated printers regarding technical specifications, production quality, and schedule. Executes a series of quality control steps to ensure that final products are complete, accurate, consistent, and professional.
-Plans, designs, and produces graphics and artwork for a wide variety of OIG programs and products through collaboration with OIG staff. Writes, edits, and publishes content to the OIG Intranet.
-Plans, manages, monitors, and maintains content on the OIG Intranet. Ensures current content and obtains feedback from user community. Develops Intranet governance.
-Develops and maintains web site(s), collaborating with the Office of
Information Technology to exploit the features of the OIG s content management system. Identifies and works to implement best practices and technical innovations that serve the user community.
QUALIFICATIONS--KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (The KSAs
below may not apply at all grades)
-Ability to write and edit materials containing complex technical ideas for a variety of audiences.
-Ability to perform editorial review of documents and copy for organization, presentation, content, accuracy, writing, and cultural sensitivity.
-Ability to prepare artwork and documents for final digital output.
-Knowledge of writing and editing content for the Intranet and Internet.
-Ability to develop and maintain web sites.
