Any suggestions for the best type of iPod FM transmitter for playing an ipod in my car?

Nope, there's no AUX port in my car which is why I want an FM transmitter.

The thing about FM ports, is that:
1. Its not a digital broadcast, so it doesnt sound like your iPod at all. It still sounds like the radio
2. If you travel around a lot, you have to continually pick up new stations

I had (meanning i have and stopped using)
a Monster iCarPlay. It's supposed to be one of the best of the bunch. Check out cnet.com. they rate these things.

I don't care too much about sound quality (as long as it's decent and not static-y), but I have heard that picking up new stations is a pain if you're traveling a lot. I guess I'm wondering what makes one type of FM transmitter "better" than another. Right now when I'm going on road trips I just burn cds with my current favorite songs but I'd rather just listen to a playlist on my iPod.

I also don't have an aux so I bought a transmitter and it sucked. It was a belkin. It was horrible. I honestly don't believe their is one out their that is worth buying. Good luck though.

I have one that I picked up for $5 last year on black friday and I love it! I rarely have to change the station, and I took it with me on a 9 hour road trip a couple weeks ago. I forget who makes it though.

It might be cheap but I haven't had any issues with it.
