Posts: 1371 11/20/2009 10:12 PM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Tags : None I accidentally updated my itunes (I haven't done it in a while because i didn't liked how it looked last time it did) and now my IM app doesn't work, it wont let me put it on my touch. When I try to download the same app from my touch it says that I need the iphone update software 3.0. Is this happening because i upadated my itunes? How can i get the app to work again?

This could be because of a number of reasons. If you delete the app (and you purchased/downloaded before) you can always go back and re download it again. What IM app is it? BeejiveIM?

Posts: 1371 11/20/2009 10:33 PM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	How do i find out what software i have? I have the 2nd gen. The app is IM+Lite, it was free. And I didn't delete it, it did it itself I guess after I updated itunes. I tried downloading it straight from the touch but that message popped up & i tried to do it manually from itunes but that doesn't work either. Edited By: Beach Honey 11/20/2009 10:35 PM. Posts: 6212 11/20/2009 11:14 PM The Tech Guy Generous JJBer '09 Reply Quote More Recent Posts	yeah i would just update then. usually you have to pay for those, but go here: http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ select iPOd touch 2G 3.1.2 software and download it. Then, plug your ipod up, back it up, and then hold shift while pressing restore. You can chose to restore from the file you download from that site. After all is done, your phone will be on the latest firmware and you should be able to use IM+

The only difference is that you'll be on the new 3.1 software with all of it's added features. You'll also have to add back your music/movies. All your apps/calendars/bookmarks/etc will stay the same

But I don't have every song & movie that's on my iPod saved on my computer or is that not going to be a problem because of that backing everything up you mentioned?

If everythig on your ipod is not saved to your computer, then yes, you will lose all that stuff. There are ways to copy it over back over. I use a mac so idk much off the top of my head for PC users, but look into CopyTrans

Posts: 1371 11/22/2009 4:16 PM Reply Quote More Recent Posts	I was hoping this wouldn't get complicated. lol But I will look into copytrans, I don't want to do anything until I know for sure I will get everyhing back on my ipod.
