I really am trying to make a lifestyle change so I don't know if I really want to call it dieting, but whatever.
For the past 2 weeks I've been watching my calories, my portions, and overall just making better choices when it comes to what I'm eating. (e.g. Eating veggies or fruit for a snack versus a bag of chips from the vending machine.) The first week wasn't so bad, but this week... I feel my old cravings start to creep back in and a lot of the food I'm starting to want, I really really don't want to give in to and eat (e.g. fries or fast food in general). I wonder how long it will take before this all becomes a habit/ingrained and doesn't seem like so much of a struggle. Anyone gone through this? Please tell me it gets easier.
And before anyone says I shouldn't deprive myself of anything, I'm really not. I do allow myself a cheat day or a few slip ups (within reason) but there are few things I really am determined to quit cold turkey, especially in the early stages like fast food and soda.
I'm determined to lose weight and watching what I eat is the hardest part for me. I keep reading all these amazing weight loss stories on here and other places and I get so motivated. I'll be good for maybe a month but then I slip up. I guess I'm just tired of yo-yoing.
