It is her child she can name it anything she wants. You can't win anyway. I got yelled at for using a normal name for my son. I was told it was to common and he would get picked on for that because everyone in is class would have the same name.

But, I'm not going to be one to tell somebody what to name their child. If anything, that person should consider ALL ramifications. My parents never expected that I would get picked on and tormented by 14-year-olds when I was 6. But it happened and the teasing did not stop then either.

I think uncommon names are great.
Plus you can always use your first initial on your resume to slide through some screens- im sure woman and black people have been doing that for awhile.

Good question and I've contemplated it. I remember when I was younger (2nd grade-ish or so) and I had a list that I prepared every now and then to try to convince my parents to change it for me. "Stephanie" was a fore runner for a few years thanks to my Full House obsession.
A big reason why I haven't changed it even after turning 18 is that I learned to accept it after some time. As I mentioned, I was tormented mercilessly in grammar school and my name was a major reason. Since my classmates and I all knew each other from kindergarten it wasn't like I was a new kid and had to be hazed. No, kids were mean because they could be and my name was like a big ol' "Pick Me! Pick Me!" sign.
It wasn't until I left that "crowd" and attended a high school that none of my former classmates attended. Granted there was one girl in my freshman year that tried to start drama (that quickly stopped after she realized she was a moron for doing so), I wasn't teased during my four years. Instead, I formed many amazing (and some lasting) relationships with friends and teachers. It was during this time that I started to come into my own and started to recognize my own talents. I started to care less about wanting to change my name and started to accept it more as "me."
From time to time I think about names and none of them ever seem to fit "me." I don't even like Stephanie anymore. As I said, thankfully my job title hires based on merit and experience so despite my weird name, I know that future employers will judge me on my resume and my work ethic. It does make me anxious and it does frustrate me when I have to do introductions.
So, just simply, it's taken me quite some time but I can't see myself as anything else.
Edit due to some grammar and spelling errors. I'm tired so my posts are going to sloppy and rambling.

These kids went so far are to take my lunch out of my backpack one morning and to throw it around. The zipper was broken on my backpack so it couldn't close. I walked by the kids one morning (it was their job to log the school bus numbers or something like that) and one kid reached it and took it. Prior to this, the principal wouldn't acknowledge the teasing but when my mother heard about the incident she raised hell (). The worse part of the situation was that I was too embarrassed, I guess, to tell my principal how my they were able to take my lunch bag. I didn't want her to know that my backpack zipper was broken. Weird, but true.

It's definitely not "Audio Science" but maybe more of a "Pilot Inspektor." It does exist as a word, but you would never think to use it to name a human.
Lol wow you must have an unusual name if you can see a difference between Audio Science and Pilot Inspektor. (lol j/k)
Do your siblings have different names?

As I said, it's just one of those things people need to consider from all points. Would I name my kid Sparkle, Apple or any other uncommon, weird name? Absolutely not. I think there are some names that sound pretty. But as soon as I think of the name I can instantly hear the taunts and imagine the looks.
