Yes, the sign might have been blocked by the truck but wouldn't it be blocking your vision in seeing that there is an oncoming car in said intersection? I would have immediately slowed down and yielded through the intersection if a truck was blocking my line of sight in a different direction of the intersection.

My husband just got a ticket for not coming to a complete stop while turning right at a red light(which he was allowed to do!). He did a rolling stop and was clocked at 11mph. $449 fine!!!

It's important to be aware while driving... but that's taking it to a whole new level in my mind. No, but if I approach what appears to be a four way stop and I can't see if there's a stop sign because of a big obstruction, then I'd look across the street to see what to do. I don't think it's reasonable to stop at every intersection, but I also can't see flying down a street without paying attention to my surroundings.
