I admit I haven't read the book in awhile, but it just seemed to be too much. I really wanted the line in when Harry was helping Dumbledore leave the Horcrux place and he said something about being safe with Harry or trustingHarry. I did not cry at the death either, I wanted to but it just wasn't there. I usually like the HP movies, but this one, I dunno, maybe I am too tired

They put waaaaay too much emphasis on the romance (probably for casual viewers that didn't read the books) and the movie had too much comedy, when its supposed to be dark. Plus they edited the shit out of it, so it barely resembled the book.

I wanted to enjoy the movie and not be thinking.."oh...they cut that...oh...where is that part...etc." I thought it was funny in more parts, but I think it was to balance out the ending "emotions". Just my thoughts.

I missed not seeing more of the history of Voldemort, the fact that Harry in the book couldn't move or speak during the killing of Dumbledore, the part where Ginny tells Ron the reason he's so jealous is because he's never been kissed, Dumbledore's funeral, etc.

I remember reading an interview or hearing about how the writer/director/big shots of the movie thought it would be too repetitive to have a battle at Hogwarts at the end of he 6th movie and another one at thee end of the 7/8th one. Cinematically I can see their point. And I think they didn't end with Dumbledore's funeral because it didn't fit with the mood or style of the film or something of the sort - I think they were too afraid of making it look like the ending of CoS. I thought the wand vigil in the movie was very moving. This was my favorite out of all of them. It portrayed all the students as being students and teenagers and I remember the age of 16 being more about emotional, boy/girl drama than learning in school, etc. I'm bummed they left backstory to Tom Riddle out of the movie but they might add more memories (how he acquired Hufflepuff's cup, etc) in the 7th movie, which kind of screws up the continuity, but if it flows better for the sake of the story... Cinematically, and writing of this movie were far and beyond better than the other five. It was wonderful!

The acting wasn't as bad as before either (Hermione has gotten better!). I didn't like how they changed a lot and left out things that were pretty important (a lot of the memories). The end was so rushed. Like they didn't even explain how Dumbledore knew about the cave, they just go there. And didn't Dumbledore suspect the Horcrux thing in the book? In the movie he seemed surprised, but yet he had the ring and the Tom Riddle book. That whole part was pretty weak imo. And what was up with the part when they burnt down the Weasley's house? That was unnecessary. I didn't care that they left out the battle scene. There will be the epic one in the last movie.

I haven't read the book in a while but I did notice that things that stood out for me in the book where not in this moive. I hated that changing of Dumblebore's death. The way it happens in the book with Harry couldn't even think about doing anything was way better. And yeah the romance was too played up. We got it, they like each other, ok. I did like that they were more like teenagers though. I thought book 6 was so full of information yet this movie for me was pretty much about very litte.

Harry would never just stand there while Dumbledore was about to be killed. Also, why did they burn down the burrow and have that fight in the wheat field? I can see the hardcore book fans being pissed because they left a lot out and at times it felt jumbled. I wish they kept in Dumbledore's funeral and I thought the ending was rushed. I agree about the romance, it way too played up. But it was nice seeing them acting like real teens. Its been a while since I read the book but was Lavender that crazy? She looked like she wanted to kill Ron with that spoon. And I also agree it was funny too. Ron had his moments and he looked really good. I also loved when Harry was on the Felix Felcitas. Best part of the movie. Overall it wasnt my favorite but I plan to see it again. I want to see it in IMAX.
