Spokesman Bryan Hill says that Jackson's body was transported back to Forest Lawn following yesterday's all-star memorial at Staples Center-thereby answering the once puzzling question of where Jackson's remains ended up last night. http://ca.eonline.com/ube...ing_now_forest_lawn.html

I'm still amazed that no one actually saw the hearse and casket actually leave the arena. They must have snuck him out somehow.
I hope they're trying to work out legal issues so they can bury him at Neverland. Michael seems too big to just be in a simple cemetary, if that makes sense. |

I'm still thinking he was actually buried the night before the Staples Memorial, and that the casket we saw at Staples was an empty one.

Why do people want him buried at Neverland? He hadn't lived there in quite some time and he himself said it didn't feel like home anymore.

Ditto Saturn. I mean, ultimately I don't really care where he is buried, but for some reason Neverland feels right. I know it didn't feel like home to
him in his later years, but his later years aren't how I tend to remember Jackson. There has been talk of turning Neverland into a museum for Jackson (like
Graceland is for Elvis) and I think having him buried on site just kind of makes sense.

He never let go of Neverland even after saying that. I believe he would've returned there eventually anyway. And let's be honest....the man had a flair
for the dramatic. I actually kind of doubt the NY Daily News report....Jermaine has stated many times the family wants him buried at Neverland.

Is where someone is buried really about where the fans or his family wanted or what the person who is being buried wanted? If he said he did not want to live
there anymore and it wasn't a home to him anymore why go against his wishes? I understand wanting to turn Neverland into a Graceland because a) it
generates money for his estate and b) it's a place for fans to celebrate his life but to bury him there just seems wrong to me. Especially since I
don't think he's step foot in there in years.

Well, he didn't express anything about a funeral or where he wished to be buried. So no one knows for sure. But I would think his family knew his heart
better than all of us do. If they felt he really didn't want to be buried there, I don't think they'd even consider it. But since they have at
least thought about it, I don't know what to think.
Remember, we're not just burying a regular celebrity. This is a person who's known around the world and has some fans who are devoted to the point of crazy obsession. I think part of the fear in burying him in a regular cemetary is once people figure out where the grave is, would anyone try to get to the casket? Most of the time fans are respectful of their icons and leave flowers and whatnot. But you just don't know. When we've had people of this stature die, look at how they're buried. Elvis - Graceland. Diana - an island on her family's estate. Places where there's no way for a grave to be desecrated in any way. I remember hearing that Jim Morrison's grave in Paris, which should be honored, has graffiti on it and whatnot. I know Forest Lawn is a much more secure, high class cemetary and there's little to no chance of graffiti or anything of that nature happening to MJ or anyone else's graves. But while it feels wrong to you to bury him at Neverland, it almost feels wrong to bury him anywhere else to me. But in the end it's about what's best for Michael and what his family, especially his children, need for closure. |
