Granted, I only got a two year degree.. but still.. I feel like I learned nothing. Which makes me afraid to go back and waste more money!

I dont feel like that at all, I think what I have studied in college so far has opened up my mind so much.. and I feel so well-rounded... maybe it's cause
of my field of study

I majored in web design.. maybe I just feel like I learn more doing my own projects. I just see some websites that I WISH I could design and I feel so stuck.

That's strange that you said that.. only because I was thinking of going back to school to major in broadcasting/radio. Maybe not necessarily get a
four-year in it but we have our Ohio Broadcasting school (beonair.com).. I was considering it.. but who knows! Any advice?

That was one thing that made me nervous. I know they axed two of our stations here.

Almost all web design/development programs are crap. It's one of those things that you're best off teaching yourself.
When I left one of my previous development jobs in college, they decided to have me interview my replacement who was to be an intern. One of the women I interviewed was probably in her 50's and had spent 10's of thousands of dollars on a web design/development program at a very respectable college. Sadly, I could tell that she learned nothing relevant in the program. I felt so bad for her.

I feel like I've learnt loads from the course I just finished this year, because it was practical and based around project work, but I definately felt like
I learnt nothing at the end od my degree, because it was all essays and mainly written assignments and exams, and too much emphasis was placed on theoretical
nonsence including Freud. I studied media.

College is a brilliant business. You "need" it but it's pointless. You learn it all on the job and even if you switch jobs within the same field
you still have to relearn their way of doing things.

I feel like I didn't start learning anything valuable until grad school. That sounds bad, but it's true.

I feel the same way. I feel like I wasted money on my first degree.

As important as a formal education is...there's a LOT to be said for experience and on the job training.

I feel the same way. I got my bachelor's, and really, I feel as though I learned nothing at college. I learned WAY more in the ten weeks I spent at the
police academy, than I didn't 4.5 years at the university.

I love going to classes in college. I'm an English major so I'm not exactly learning practical things... but my critical thinking skills, writing,
public speaking, and even organization have improved immensely. I just feel like a more intelligent person than before I started.

I didn't learn anything in college and I can't get a job so it was a complete waste of money. I should have joined the Marines
