This is the worst thing that's ever happened to me. At least I have my BlackBerry.

Nothing! It's something with the power. For a couple of days, it'd refuse to charge or switch off randomly when I'd move it, and now it won't
turn on at all. I just hope I can get all of my pictures and music off of it.

What kind did you have, shoebaby? Mine is a Sony Vaio. And what's a netbook?

It's a common problem with notebooks. Mine has been at the repair shop for TWO MONTHS because they were going to replace the motherboard. There is a small
wire where your AC adapter plugs in that goes to the motherboard, when that comes loose it can fry it. This has happened to my last two notebooks... extremely
frustrating. Fortunately this time I had backed everything up about 2 weeks before it happened. Good luck with yours

My HP has been doing the same thing. I turn it on and it's nothing but a black screen. Apparently my motherboard is shot, so I might as well get a whole
new damn laptop.

Wow. That would be devastating. I have many of my pictures since high school (I'm 25) on there, and nowhere else. My fault for not backing them up, but
that'll be a pretty tough way to be taught a lesson.

All of my college recitals were lost when my Sony died, and there is no other recordings of any of them either. I was so upset. I am like the back up queen
now.
I really hope your stuff can be saved Kristin.
